In South Korea a woman tried to pass the written exam for a driver’s license with near-daily attempts since April 2005 has finally succeeded on her 950th time. The aspiring driver spent more than 5 million won ($4,200) in application fees, but until now had failed to score the minimum 60 out of a possible 100 points needed to get behind the wheel for a driving test.
Cha Sa-soon, 68, finally passed the written exam with a score of 60 on Wednesday, said Choi Young-chul, a police official at the drivers’ license agency in Jeonju, 130 miles (210 kilometers) south of Seoul.
Police said Cha took the test hundreds of times, but had no specific total. Local media said she took the test 950 times.
Now she must pass a driving test before getting her license, Choi said.
Repeated calls to Cha seeking comment went unanswered. She told the Korea Times newspaper she needed the license for her vegetable-selling business.

The Yankees finished their debut season at the new Yankee Stadium in style Wednesday night for a 7-3 win in Game 6 to capture the 27th World Series championship in franchise history.
Hideki Matsui had the game of his life, homering and driving in six runs – tying the World Series RBI record – on what may have been his final night in pinstripes. The first four came against long-time Yankees nemesis Pedro Martinez, who lasted only four innings for the Phillies. Matsui finished the series 8-for-13 (.615) with three homers and eight RBI and the MVP trophy.
Matsui, whose contract is up, said he wants a return engagement. “I hope it works out that way,” the first Japanese player to win the award said through his interpreter. “I love New York. I love the Yankees and I love the fans here.”
Mariano Rivera closed out the win by getting the final five outs, joining Pettitte, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada in picking up their fifth rings while winning another one for George Steinbrenner, his seventh in all. The Boss wasn’t in attendance, but all four of his children were, including Hal and Hank, who won their first title since taking over control of the team two years ago.
Alex Rodriguez finally became the World Series winner he dreamed he would be when he was traded to the Yankees six seasons ago.
“My teammates, coaches and the organization stood by me and now we stand here as world champions,” he said. “We’re going to enjoy it and we’re going to party.”

Thanks for the person who clarified that the 11 yr old was not the worlds youngest mother. I did some research & here is what I found.

This is the worlds youngest parent.
-5yrs old
-Born in Peru
-Lina Medina is her name
-Gerardo is her sons name
-Her child was born by Cesarean section in May 1939
-Parents thought their 5-year-old daughter had a huge abdominal tumor and they could find no cure, her father carried her to a hospital.
- Her child was born on Mother’s Day, May 14, 1939
- The child was in well form & health
-At four years old she had already developed breasts as well as pubic hair, her body proportions were a bit amazing and her bone hardening a bit advanced, things that are often observed in cases of such premature pregnancy.
-Gerardo died in 1979 at age 40 from a disease that attacks the body’s bone marrow, but it was said it was not clear there was any link with his illness and the fact his mother had been so young at his birth.
-Medina herself married and in 1972 had a second son, 33 years after her first. Her second child now lives in Mexico.
-Medina was barely 3 ft tall at the time of birth.

This image makes me sick…
-Her son weighed 2.7 kg (6 lb) at birth

-Extreme degrees of precocious puberty in children under 5 are very uncommon but not unheard of.
-So far they do not know who the actual father was.
-Gerardo was raised believing that Medina was his sister, but found out at the age of 10 that she was his mother.
-In young adulthood, she worked as a secretary in the Lima clinic of Dr. Lozada, who gave her an education and helped put her son through high school.
